Regina, the Capital City of Saskatchewan, was named in honour of Queen Victoria and is often referred to as "the Queen City".
"Regina" being latin for "Queen", is found on all Canadian coins minted during the reign of a queen (such as Victoria and Elizabeth II). The actual phrase is "D.G. Regina" meaning "Queen by God's Grace". Coins minted during the reign of a King will show "D.G. Rex".
